After two years the Choir returned to Huddersfield Town Hall with their guests, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. We hosted ‘The Ukes’ in 2018, scheduled a repeat performance in 2020 and finally brought the show to the stage in 2021. A process performed by many other organisations during the last two years.

The Choir received an emotional welcome from the audience, no doubt happy to see a live performance after many months of partial and complete lockdowns. Our new Musical Director, Dorian, had brought a very rusty Choir back to concert pitch in a little over two months. Hard work that was well rewarded by a confident set of performances from the Choir.

The Ukes performed a string of classic songs from different genres delivered with their trademark humour and aplomb. ‘Highway to Hell’ and ‘Teenage Dirt Bag’ are transformed when played on a ukulele!

The final item of the evening, the Choir and the UKES performing the David Bowie classic ‘Heroes’, had the audience on their feet and was an unforgettable finale to an outstanding concert.
